Just love watching my littlest clients grow! Precious little Hadley loved looking at my camera, but saved her biggest smiles for her daddy! Sooo sweet!!

This session was shot at West Neck Creek Natural Area, by the historic Whitehurst-Buffington House, built in 1793.

Tiffany & Danyelle | Oh Boy! It’s Another Boy!! | Gender Reveal

Tiffany & Danyelle are such a sweet, happy couple. They were just filled with joy throughout the whole session. They are so eager to meet their new baby in a few months! They were so excited to find out the gender of their baby, but Tiffany stated that they had “no expectations!”  They are grateful, joyful, and and so happy to welcome another child into their family.

Poor big brother Isaiah did get a little overwhelmed after the explosion of blue everywhere. Once his mommies explained that he was indeed having a baby brother, the little guy sobbed and sobbed. No doubt with time, he will absolutely love to have a little brother to play with and teach new things!

What made this session even more special was that they invited their closest friends and family to watch the reveal! Everyone close to them found out the same moment that Tiffany, Danyelle, and Isaiah found out! So special!!!

I had so much fun doing this session for this sweet family! What a blast, and what an honor to share in such a special moment that they will cherish forever and someday be able to look back on and share with their new little boy.

Bertrand Family | Worth Waiting For | Family Session

Sooo much love for this little boy, Connor. Even through the inevitable two-year-old fits thrown throughout our photo session!! Haha. These parents kept their cool and were so patient… always with a loving look on their faces. Sarah & Tim are appreciating every single moment with their precious baby boy, and there’s a reason why they are so so appreciative of having their son, Connor.

Sarah & Tim met by chance. On a night that Sarah wasn’t meant to work, at a restaurant that Tim didn’t even want to go to that night, they happened to come across each other and were hooked!! It must’ve been fate! They were married May 10th, 2008 surrounded by their loving friends and family.

Once married, they decided to fulfill their dream of becoming parents, much like other couples, but unfortunately for Sarah & Tim, they struggled to get pregnant. After three long years of trying, “the longest of their lives,” puts Sarah, their lives were finally changed forever with the birth of their son on March 31st, 2012. Connor Scott, the light of their lives, was born perfect and was absolutely worth waiting for!!!

This session was shot at beautiful Sandbridge Beach in Virginia Beach before sunset, and precisely right before a certain two-year-old was totally done! Sweet Connor actually started out terrified of the sand, and as it turns out, was terribly upset to leave! Oh, life is rough, especially if you’re two!!! 😉

Erin + Addison | Living in the Moment | Kids Session

Remember those carefree days when the only worry in the world was what adventure you were going to go on next? Well, I had a glimpse back into those joyful days when I had the opportunity to capture some images of 5-year-old Erin & 2-1/2-year-old Addison!! There was not an inch of the VA Tech Hampton Roads AREC Display Gardens in Virginia Beach that was not explored by these two adventurers. Erin exclaimed, “Come on, sissy!! This is so fun. This is like an adventure!”

These two beauties not only love exploring outside, but they ran, danced, and sang through fields of wildflowers in their adorable little cowgirl boots!! Little miss Erin wants to grow up to be a veterinarian, and little sis Addy will follow her big sister anywhere. I can’t wait to see where these two sisters end up on their adventures in the future. They already have a lot figured out… exploring nature’s treasures, stopping to smell the flowers, soaking up the sun, dancing like nobody’s watching, singing at the top of their lungs, spinning in circles with their eyes shut… living in the moment!!!

Take a tip from these joyous, sweet girls today and go out and explore. Live in the moment and just be. Soak up the JOY, folks! It’s so worth it. 🙂

Peyton | “Bringing a Little More Love to the World” | Newborn Session

So, I’ve been doing this little photography gig for a few months now, but something clicked (no pun intended – ha!) on Sunday when I started to work on capturing this precious 14-day-old baby girl. My slogan reads, “Bringing a little more love to the world, one photo at a time.” Maybe I somehow foresaw what my favorite subjects would be with the wording of my little phrase, but as I took photo after photo of newborn Peyton, I fell more and more in love with it all!! Having a brand new teeny-tiny baby is such a special time for families. Babies are only newborns for such  a short period of time… I know I definitely forgot just how little  they really are when they first come out! Being able to capture those brief precious moments for a family to enjoy forever and look back on and remember the itsy-bitsy toes, the almost invisible eyebrows, the peach fuzz hair, the pouty pink lips… it is all a HUGE honor for me.

This absolutely was my pleasure, and to top it off, baby Peyton was an absolute perfect angel!!! Not only did she sleep through all 3 hours of me photographing her in various positions, outfits, headbands, and props, but she even waited till we stuck her diaper back on to do her little business!! What a sweet little (considerate) model she was!!

A couple of months ago, I had the privilege of photographing the Calvi family for some holiday and maternity photos. My husband had met Eric, Peyton’s daddy, while they were both serving in the Navy, and Tina and I quickly became friends, especially after we both had boys first! So, when I was asked to do some newborn shots of new baby Peyton, there was no way I was turning that down!! I also just had  to take some family shots as well, including Peyton’s fun big brothers, Aidan and Cylas! So happy for these great friends of ours and the beautiful addition of a GIRL to their family!!!

I love these next photos because this is a very special spot for the Calvi family! This arch was custom made by Tina’s dad for their wedding day in 2008, and it was where they took their vows!! It now stands in Tina’s parents’ backyard. Where it all began… now over five years and three kids later! 🙂
