Little Captain Colton is ONE! What a fun time it has been, and what an honor it was to capture sweet Colton so many times in the past year. Jen & Jason made sure to get portraits of their little boy every season of his first year! I know from experience that time flies by so fast, especially that first precious year of life!
The Campbells had their engagement, trash the dress, and maternity photos done at Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge in Virginia Beach, so it was only fitting that they chose this location to share with Mr. Colton! Even with a missed afternoon nap, Colton observed his surroundings with awe, held his little feet up in the air so they wouldn’t touch the grass, and talked to and waved to the birds. See how much this little dude has changed from his sleepy snoozes in his treasure box at his newborn session here: Yo Ho, A Pirate’s Life for Colton | Newborn Session | VA Beach Newborn Photographer

Just love watching my littlest clients grow! Precious little Hadley loved looking at my camera, but saved her biggest smiles for her daddy! Sooo sweet!!

The Corsos had a ball laughing, playing with Curious George, and climbing a live oak during their spring session! Sweet big brother Zeke picked out flowers for his baby sister Summer who just turned one, and Summer may have tasted one or two flowers as well! I absolutely adore capturing precious natural moments for loving families like this!

Jennifer & Jason are pretty crazy about their cute little guy! Colton on the other hand, might not have been that crazy about me, since he stuck his tongue out at me during most of our session!!! Haha… In all seriousness, I have loved getting to watch sweet Colton grow! What an honor it has been to be able to capture his newborn portraits, fall photos, and now spring photos!

Ginny was actually the one to contact me months back about doing a family session for her, her boyfriend Brian, and her daughter Haley. I was so happy when we were able to get together to do the session amongst the gorgeous, colorful, fall leaves. Much to my surprise, Brian slipped me a little note shortly after arriving that said, “I have a ring, and I plan to propose, so be prepared!” Before I knew what the note said, I responded with a loud, “Thank you!!” thinking he was handing me their session payment. Thankfully Ginny didn’t notice anything and was still completely clueless! Haha, phew!!
About half-way through our session, Brian got down on one knee, and proposed to Ginny!! She was totally surprised and cried tears of joy! The couple then spent a couple sweet moments hugging Haley and enjoying the moment together. We just had to do a quick reenactment with the fall leaves in the background as well! What a perfectly beautiful place for a proposal that was made so much more special with Ginny’s sweet daughter there! How awesome is this background with Haley’s beautiful hair too?!

Straight from sunny Florida to snowy Virginia Beach!!! The Greene Family first began in the sunshine state back in 2005 when Dylan & Jessica first met as seniors in high school and fell in love!! As Jessica put it, “We met in our economics class. Our teacher, coach Guidry, asked Dylan to help me with my power point presentation because he was the computer nerd and I had no idea what I was doing. He is the reason we met and he even came to our wedding!”
Five years later they were married, and shortly after, Dylan joined and is still proudly serving in the U.S. Navy, which is what brought them to Virginia Beach. A year later they became three with the arrival of their son, Aidan, and finally this past October they became a family of four with the arrival of little baby Aria!
The initial plan was to do a family session sometime this March, but when Virginia Beach was hit with two recent snow storms, the second of which brought up to 10 inches of white stuff in some areas, we just had to take advantage of a unique photo session in the SNOW! So glad we did!
Just look at this gorgeous family… freezing or not, they did a great job in the snow, especially for not being used to it at all! Dylan was also feeling terrible this day, but you wouldn’t know from the pics… he was a trooper! Aidan & Aria were so well behaved for almost freezing their little noses off! Love the beautiful baby blues on both of these adorable kiddos!!
This session was shot at the historic Adam Thoroughgood House (circa 1719) in Virginia Beach.

I have known Tina & Eric for several years now, so it was awesome getting to photograph this couple and their adorable little GROWING family!! 🙂 My husband met Eric in the Navy, where Eric continues to serve today. Their two handsome little boys were full of giggles despite the literally freezing temperatures at this photo session. Thank goodness for a couple candy canes that spared the tears for a few minutes for the frozen little guys! How exciting is it that next month they will finally be bringing a little girl to the family giving Aidan & Cylas a baby sister!!! She will never experience a dull moment with these fun and silly big brothers (and daddy) to entertain her, for sure!
