Tiffany & Danyelle | Oh Boy! It’s Another Boy!! | Gender Reveal

Tiffany & Danyelle are such a sweet, happy couple. They were just filled with joy throughout the whole session. They are so eager to meet their new baby in a few months! They were so excited to find out the gender of their baby, but Tiffany stated that they had “no expectations!”  They are grateful, joyful, and and so happy to welcome another child into their family.

Poor big brother Isaiah did get a little overwhelmed after the explosion of blue everywhere. Once his mommies explained that he was indeed having a baby brother, the little guy sobbed and sobbed. No doubt with time, he will absolutely love to have a little brother to play with and teach new things!

What made this session even more special was that they invited their closest friends and family to watch the reveal! Everyone close to them found out the same moment that Tiffany, Danyelle, and Isaiah found out! So special!!!

I had so much fun doing this session for this sweet family! What a blast, and what an honor to share in such a special moment that they will cherish forever and someday be able to look back on and share with their new little boy.

Harper Rhea | Fun & Fiesty | Toddler Session

Meet Harper Rhea. 19 months old and quite the beauty!! What makes Harper very unique, in her grandma Emma’s opinion, is that she is one fiesty little girly girl! One look into her gorgeous, piercing blue eyes, and you can see why this little one is totally spoiled by her grandma! Emma states that every time little Harper comes over to her house, she looks into the closet to search for new pretty clothes and shoes to wear!!!

Harper had a total blast exploring Mt. Trashmore (a former landfill) with us, and it was hard for me to see her infamous fiestiness while she was completely consumed with smelling the flowers, falling in the mulch, and asking sweetly for more “snacks!” I have been warned, however, that she is not always as perfectly sweet. Having a high-energy toddler of my own who often behaves wonderfully in public when he’s occupied by being out, I understand this phenomenon completely.

Fierce boldness aside, little Miss Harper was a total joy (for me), and I got to see her express her artistic side while she painted (finger-painted/finger-smeared/glitter-paint-squirted) a beautiful masterpiece of her own atop the Mt. Trashmore man-made mountain. A piece almost as beautiful as her sweet face. She also took a brief safari with some jungle animals! Take a look!!

Oh, and her gorgeous self definitely did not help my baby fever… I decided that I would absolutely love to have a baby girl that looks just like her!! 😉

Bertrand Family | Worth Waiting For | Family Session

Sooo much love for this little boy, Connor. Even through the inevitable two-year-old fits thrown throughout our photo session!! Haha. These parents kept their cool and were so patient… always with a loving look on their faces. Sarah & Tim are appreciating every single moment with their precious baby boy, and there’s a reason why they are so so appreciative of having their son, Connor.

Sarah & Tim met by chance. On a night that Sarah wasn’t meant to work, at a restaurant that Tim didn’t even want to go to that night, they happened to come across each other and were hooked!! It must’ve been fate! They were married May 10th, 2008 surrounded by their loving friends and family.

Once married, they decided to fulfill their dream of becoming parents, much like other couples, but unfortunately for Sarah & Tim, they struggled to get pregnant. After three long years of trying, “the longest of their lives,” puts Sarah, their lives were finally changed forever with the birth of their son on March 31st, 2012. Connor Scott, the light of their lives, was born perfect and was absolutely worth waiting for!!!

This session was shot at beautiful Sandbridge Beach in Virginia Beach before sunset, and precisely right before a certain two-year-old was totally done! Sweet Connor actually started out terrified of the sand, and as it turns out, was terribly upset to leave! Oh, life is rough, especially if you’re two!!! 😉

Maria + Ethan | Waiting On Their First | Maternity Session

There’s something sooo uniquely amazing about anticipating your very first baby. I remember it well, and Maria & Ethan have that special look in their eye showing how incredibly excited they are and just can’t wait to meet that little guy in Maria’s belly!!

Maria & Ethan met in college and have been together for 8 1/2 years now. They love spending their free time going on trips and seeing new places. They just took a trip all the way to Italy this past summer! Maria & Ethan are so excited to meet their little baby boy in a few short weeks, and are looking forward to taking their little guy on family vacations and to baseball stadiums with them!

Ethan had no problem at all giving his beautiful expectant wife many loving kisses, and he was already giving his little boy kisses through his mama’s belly (something my own husband did countless times while we were expecting)!! So sweet!!! I captured these images of Maria & Ethan (and baby belly) right by the waterfront in their hometown of Old Town Alexandria, Virginia.

Don’t miss the shot of Ethan preparing to catch his little slugger!!! Hahaha… too funny! Love when clients are willing to be silly with me!! 🙂

I’m just dying to see their first little baby right along with them, especially since I will get the opportunity to take his newborn portraits very soon as well!! My fave!! Can you guess what the theme might be?!

Mandy + Mike | Second Shooting | A Dreamy Woodsy Wedding

“Oh, I’d love to be a wedding photographer someday…”

This is a thought I’d shared many times, just talking about a dream, someday, down the road, in another time, when I would have the confidence and the resources to give it a shot. Fast forward to not even six months after starting this photography journey, and here I am jumping in with two feet, experiencing a dream of mine that I never would have guessed I’d be experiencing. Oh, and I just have to tell you, it feels so right! Excited doesn’t even begin to describe it! I am thrilled… heart-pounding, stay up late, giddy, fist-pumping, screeching ecstatic!!!! Just ask my sweet husband as he watched me start to edit this session!! 😉

This was my first experience second shooting a wedding with the absolutely fabulous, generous, helpful, photography advisor, and friend, Michelle of Michelle Marsh Photography. What a wonderful experience it was. I have always loved weddings, loved planning my own wedding, and after experiencing my own, said that I wanted to do it again!! To be able to capture these priceless moments for this couple and imagine my future doing this for others, it is surreal!

Meet Mandy & Mike. They met through friends almost four years ago and have been inseparable ever since. They have a cute, spunky, silly little two-year-old named Skylar that is the light of their lives (who also played the special part of flower girl on their big day). She “definitely keeps us on our toes!” Mandy states. Mandy and Mike were engaged for a long two-and-a-half years before they tied the knot, and they are overly excited to finally be united as one!

Mandy & Mike took their vows at the beautiful Great Neck Gazebo at Great Neck Park located in Virginia Beach. It was a gorgeous, warm, sunshine-filled day, perfect for a wedding. Check out these shots of the yellow and peach wedding I captured while second shooting with Michelle, and make sure you don’t miss Mandy’s dad’s intense emotion right after giving her away!!! Priceless.
